Pondering today the idea of looking back.. Short term, medium or long term.. Feeling this might fit into the category I created earlier called the Double Reverse Flea Flicker of mental game planning.
A loose take on a footballer term – as noted earlier, I am not into football but it filters in.
My understanding is that the Double Reverse Flea Flicker fakes out the other team and double backs in the most unexpected way.
Getting into the ‘retrospective mode” might do that… Looking back …. Maybe sending your energy in the exact opposite way from your desires?
In the Flea Flicker in football, it works when they trick the other team to score but in the mind game world you can’t fool yourself. You own both end zones.
You don’t want to look back to judge or feel loss or revel in days of success even that are long gone.. The ol’ cliché of the guy reliving the glory days of the touchdowns … how does that make him feel about today’s moment in time? Probably not that great.. Not sure where there is the win there.
Being in the ‘now’ or living the movement is a pretty tired phrase that is intangible, but today’s thought is that it might be easier to attain by letting go of looking back.
