Moments captured sometimes intentionally and sometimes the magic of the universe appears later. This photo was one of those later discoveries… floating below the surface or within it.
This phenomenon is known as pareidolia, which comes from the Greek words “para,” meaning beside, and “eidolon,” meaning image or form. Once considered exclusively a symptom of psychosis, so many people find faces in nature pareidolia is now recognized as part of the normal human experience.

Motivational Manifestation Tips
You’ve decided TODAY going forward is going to be different. You’re going to start it right and accomplish the big goals you have for yourself. Whether your focus is on building up your savings account or losing weight, there may come a time when you lose the motivation to stick with it. But motivation can be rediscovered. Try these simple ways to refocus anytime..
Remember Your Why—Let’s face it, building new habits to meet your goals can get boring. If it weren’t, we’d all be in perfect physical, emotional and financial health. When you feel your resolve weakening, come back to the reason you set the goal in the first place. Imagine the home you’ll be able to purchase when you’ve saved that down payment. Think of how much energy you’ll have when you’ve lost those twenty extra pounds you’ve been carrying around. A great way to do this is to close your eyes and imagine yourself there in your new home or body. Feel what it will be like to live in that new reality.
Seek Out Inspiration—The easiest way to retain motivation is by not losing it in the first place. You can do this by inspiring yourself each day. You might find images of clothes you’ll look great in when you’ve lost your bulge. Or window shop for new furniture you’ll buy when you have the house of your dreams. Find people who have accomplished what you are working towards and read their inspirational story. Use an app to track each little “win”—each time you chose to add money to your savings instead of buying a new shirt you don’t need. Track each time you select a salad for lunch instead of a burger and fries. These small, consistent boosts of inspiration can keep you going strong throughout the year.
Focus on the Feel-Good—Rather than thinking about how much you loathe going to the gym, concentrate on how good you feel after a workout. Instead of thinking about how much you want to buy that fun item in front of you, consider how amazing it will feel to own your own home. These feel-good moments of concentration can bring you back from the brink and make it easier to keep your eyes on the prize.

Great inspirational resources for brainstorming the biology of the human body and the power of the mind.
“I read The Biology of Belief when it first came out. It was a pioneering book and gave a much needed scientific framework for the mind body spirit connection. Bruce’s insights and research created the basis of the epigenetic revolution that is now laying the foundation for a consciousness based understanding of biology. We are all indebted to him.”

Taking a moment to relive one of the best artistic times of my life.. The Root. (r-oo-Uh-oot). 2021 has some challenges so remembering this brings me strength and encouragement for doing things you never thought possible.
Made the clay and glaze from the sand from this beach.. crafted the sculpture; fired it in a giant kiln… carried it out to the coast for the photo shoot for gallery show. The Root and it’s babies emerging from the sea. {Maybe to be posted another time.}
A short story version …
The creation part of the story is cool to me, assignment was to create something literally larger than yourself. .. (fast forward to the beach photos shoot day) my Mom came to Oregon (go Ducks) to help me lug these creatures out to the sea in my pick up – wrapped in blankets and tied to the truck bed with bungees like some kind of vertical dead body… I dragged my sculpture through the reeds of the dunes to get to the sea.
We crossed paths with an older man who looked at me with an odd sense of wonder (as in wonder wtf you are doing with that thing) and he said.. “ What is that? A Ruut???” and I said it is whatever you want it to be..
He left confused and probably making some connection between my life in Eugene Oregon and the explanation of this odd effort to drag a sculpture to the sea .. But it stuck with me forever.
It’s a root.
To you.
To me, not so much but do enjoy your root version.
Perspective.
