Fulfillment Dept.

Something about this boulder makes me smile and now that I have seen it, I can’t unsee it.

Today’s inspirational message from the Momentum Screensaver is ….“If you want your life to be a magnificent story, then begin by realizing that you are the author.”    I don’t think I would read the book I am writing at the moment and went into photos to look for inspiration.  I found this boulder and the simplicity hit the spot.

I am seeking the new manifestation theme for March as I already fulfilled the February one. Is the answer in this question? Sort of.  Manifesting is supposed to be visionary, not details.  The spirit of where you want to go, who you want to be, how your life will unfold.  Then the universe steps in for the fulfillment department.  Where to start? Start with what you enjoy and branch out from there to form a vision of life that is full of those things.  Start with what makes you sparkle.  Feel the energy that bubbles out when you are in the right zone. Let the life unfold into that zone.

I am starting on this boulder.

The Double Reverse Flea Flicker Series- Poke The Bear

The Double Reverse Flea Flicker Series- Poke The Bear

Ever get that feeling that you are just poking a bear and you kinda don’t know what will happen but maybe it might be worth it?   I am pondering today the idea that sometimes it sounds good to just be a bit of a punk, go ahead and say that thing you don’t ever say.. Take the risk .. Take the chance.. Throw it all on red 27 and see what happens.

Usually, it does not work out well.

Feeling this might fit into the category I created earlier called the Double Reverse Flea Flicker of mental game planning.

A loose take on a footballer term – as noted earlier, I am not into football but it is part of the lexicon or the Rubicon or whatever that is called.

My understanding is that the  Double Reverse Flea Flicker fakes out the other team and double backs in the most unexpected way.

Getting antsy and punk ass ..deciding to pole the bear –  Might send your energy in the exact opposite way from your intentions?

In the Flea Flicker in football, it works when they trick the other team to score but in the mind game world you can’t fool yourself.  You will know you started this mess.

Being able to let things go, and I mean really just don’t poke the bear, step back, way back – might be the lesson for today. Bears have fleas.

(Disclaimer: No insult meant to bears. No idea if they have fleas or not!)

Suspended Mid Flight

Suspended Mid Flight

This image captures todays feeling.. Ever feel that you are suspended mid flight? Or is it mid fall? Not sure.. Was this leaf taking off or tumbling down.  Did the wind pick it up providing support or did some of the tumbling leaf friends there on the mossy boulder lift him up in some kind of amazing fall foliage gymnastic competition?  Is this taking anthropomorphism too far?? I don’t think you can take it too far when using imagination.. But if you were to now never walk on a leaf because it may be on it way to the Olympic trials.. That would be too far.

But this leaf captures the essence of thoughts today and its all about Perspective.  Up Down Flying Falling Supported by others for your dramatic 10 out of 10 totally nailed the landing win or the probably unnecessary swan dive.

Shift your mind. Look past the foreground to the blurry mysterious and hopeful future beyond.

In this image, a fisherman in the blurry distance.. the future perhaps.. A great example of the eternally hopeful.  Cast, cast, Cast.. Some day maybe I catch one and then I just let it go to continue to be ever hopeful for the next capture.

How to Design a Don’t-Do List

We all have To-Do Lists. Maybe you even have more than one. It’s so easy to get focused on the little daily chores at work and home that we can lose sight of why we are doing those tasks in the first place. Instead of starting the year off with another extended list of what you want to accomplish, how about rededicating yourself to living a happier, more fulfilling life by making a list of what you aren’t going to do. Let’s start your Don’t-Do List!

Know Your Values—How many things do we do each day that are expected of us but don’t align with our values? A lot, right? Think about all the little things you do each day that suck up your time and energy—things that aren’t important to you. For example, have your co-workers or boss come to expect you’ll answer emails and texts about work while you are at home? That might lead to you working all hours, instead of helping your child with their homework. Or spending much-needed downtime with yourself. Deciding what’s most important to you is the first thing you need to do to start your Don’t-Do List. If you are spending time and energy on things that aren’t important to you, come up with ways you can get out of doing them.

Avoid Energy Drains—These might be tasks or people that make you feel negative. Or things that take a lot of time and effort to deal with and resolve. Think of coworkers, acquaintances, and even family members who suck the life out of you. They might be too needy, talk trash about everyone, or criticize you whenever you are around. Come up with ways to avoid these people without being rude. Life is too short to spend care-taking people you don’t even like! The same goes for tasks that are draining your time and energy. You should perhaps reconsider the time you spend bowling every Tuesday night. What would you prefer to be doing instead? Find a way to get off those committees and teams that no longer light you up.

Evaluate Task ROI—Every item on your To-Do List has an ROI or Return On Investment. Too often we get caught up in thinking we are the only ones who can do something. When in reality, that only keeps us busy and exhausted. Take a look at your task list. What items are going to improve your life? What’s truly important for you to handle? Consider delegating or outsourcing things that you don’t need to take care of yourself. For example, is it vital that you cut your grass each week? No? Then why not pay a neighbor kid to do it? Tired of spending your weekends managing your finances and investments? Why not hire someone with the right credentials to do that for you? They will be able to do it faster and probably better than you can. And, it will free up time that you can be spending doing things you enjoy with the people you love.

Watcher in the Woods

Watcher in the Woods

I had never heard of the pareidolia phenomenon before Julie wrote her blog post about it but I’ve definitely experienced it! Here’s one of my favorites – a true gentleman that you encounter only by going the opposite direction on the forest path. He’s part mushroom, part tree, and part moss (a common enough mixture in these woods) but the pieces add up to a great composition that greets me on my second left turn and makes me feel safe on this jaunt.

Another one I’ll add is this formally known as a tree now called spidey stump.

Tree stump that looks like a spider

Crawling under the sidewalk and house foundation disrupting the sewer and water pipes, sadly this 50+ year old specimen had to go in order to save the 100+ year old house
